Sensual,
splendorous and unique, the Carnival of Venice is
distinct for its originality.
Masks of every kind and costumes of
the epoch animate the city.
These coupled with the backdrop of
the narrow streets (Calli) and small squares
(Campielli) make the Venice Carnival a real triumph
of illusion and decadence, giving one the
opportunity to temporarily flee everyday life and to
indulge in one is every fantasy.
The whole
place is filled with musicians, acrobats, theatre
troupes and revellers from all countries and for
those with a more aristocratic bent.
With a
two-week series of processions, masquerades,
traditional ceremonies, music and all-round
festivities among the canals, squares and palaces of
this ancient city, the carnival is one of the most
celebrated and fascinating events in Europe.
I will guide you through the events of the Venice
Carnival, the only one of this type in the world.
During
the Carnival workshop, we will examine many
principles of photography specific to the capturing
of such events as well as photographing Venice,
enjoying the city's most colourful days of the year.
Remember
that the workshop is limited to a
maximum of three people and that the
teaching will be custom designed
according to the desires of every
student and finally that I will be at
your disposition for eight hours per
diem.
